While there was a brief pause to The Script surveys, they are back and in full force with holiday questions. After a week of collecting responses, 152 students answered the call with their fiery holiday opinions.
First, students were asked what their favorite Thanksgiving holiday food was at the dinner table. While in previous years it was a clear win for mashed potatoes, there has been an upset. From the bottom, the food that had the fifth most votes this year was sweet potatoes. This option for voters wasn’t necessarily narrowed down to a specific way to prepare the sweet potatoes, but it still won the votes of eleven students.
In fourth place is green bean casserole. If this seems confusing, this side dish is actually made and prepared most popularly during the Thanksgiving season over any other time during the year. Coming into the third spot was the only dessert in the top five list: pumpkin pie. This choice is no surprise as it is the most common and popular sweet dish during the Thanksgiving season. This holiday season also signals the usual end of pumpkin spiced everything as tastes like cinnamon and peppermint take its place.
In a photo finish for the number one spot of favorite thanksgiving food, the reigning champ of last year’s favorite dish has been dethroned. Mashed potatoes claims the second place spot and for the upset, stuffing, (or dressing, if you didn’t make it in the turkey), is the most popular Thanksgiving dish among CSS students who participated in the survey.
On another note, these same participants were also asked when the best time to begin listening to Christmas or holiday music could begin. One third of them chose that the best time for the classic tunes is after Thanksgiving, whenever it should fall in a given year. Following these in smaller increments were a meager sixth of students who either chose to listen to Christmas music as soon as Halloween was over or whenever they felt like listening to it during the entire year.
Stay tuned for more surveys!
